1.Curriculum and Instruction

The Department of Public Administration and Law at Tamkang University offers an interdisciplinary curriculum encompassing four major fields in the social sciences: law, political science, public administration, and public policy. Through an integrated approach to legal studies, political analysis, public management, and policy development, the Department equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to understand and address contemporary social and governance challenges.

Courses in law include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law and Society, Civil Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, and Procedural Law. Courses in political science include Introduction to Political Science, Comparative Politics, and other subjects that explore political institutions, democratic governance, and contemporary political developments. Courses in public administration include Public Management, Organisational Theory and Behaviour, and Personnel Management. Courses in public policy include Policy Analysis, Political Economy, and Policy Evaluation. The curriculum also incorporates emerging topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Governance, AI and Democracy, and Globalisation, enabling students to engage with the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly interconnected and technologically advanced world.
